T visa psychological evaluation

If you are preparing a T visa application (Form I-914) as a survivor of human trafficking, your attorney may ask for a psychological evaluation that documents the clinical impact of what you went through. Portalis conducts that evaluation online and delivers a signed report ready for the record.

Interview in Spanish or English. The whole process is confidential.

What this evaluation documents

The report describes, using clinical method, how the trafficking experience affected your mental health and daily life. It does not opine on the outcome of the case or on legal eligibility.

  • Post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression or dissociative symptoms.
  • Impact on sleep, work, study and relationships.
  • Fear of return to the country of origin and of retaliation, where applicable.
  • Personal resources and any treatment currently in place.

What the interview is like

It is a clinical interview by video call, 90 to 120 minutes, conducted by Ana Di Fonzo. It moves at your pace: documenting psychological impact does not require recounting every detail of the events, and you can ask for a break whenever you need one. If the case calls for it, we split it across two sessions at no extra cost.

Instruments administered

Standardized instruments are used according to the clinical picture, such as the PCL-5 for post-traumatic stress symptoms and depression and anxiety scales. The report includes the scores and their interpretation, so a technical reader can follow the clinical reasoning.

How your attorney uses the report

It serves as documentary evidence of the clinical component of the case, alongside your declaration and the rest of the evidence. We can send it directly to your attorney and answer clarification questions about the findings. Legal strategy always stays with them.

Confidentiality and safety

Your clinical information is confidential. The report is shared only with you and with whoever you authorize in writing. If you are in an unsafe situation, we can arrange appointment times and a contact channel that work safely for you. Professional license verification is available on request at info@portalis.site.
